About Minçavi

Minçavi* is a nutritional program (not a diet) based on Canada's Food Guide. Founded in 1984, Minçavi offers 200 meetings in over 160 towns in Quebec and Ontario, where members are weighed-in, hear a motivational conference, receive information on healthy eating and sample Minçavi recipes.

Minçavi invites it's members to adopt a healthy lifestyle by promoting healthy eating habits. Miracle diets have never given long term, positive results. This is why Minçavi does not recommend deprivation or any destructive strategies. Our dietary program is balanced and varied and can easily be adapted to today's social and family situations.

The person who joins Minçavi makes places his/her own weight loss objective. The conference host can help guide the member using a Basic Metabolism Index chart. Knowing that a BMI of 25 is not attainable for everyone, we start with aiming for a weight loss of 5% of body mass. This method encourages those who have a big weight loss objective and also makes a point of the importance of losing weight gradually. Further more, this weight loss, minor as it may be, is still very beneficial to one's health.
